imho : Strongbow Dark Fruit Cider (6/10)

a dummy reviews STRONGBOW DARK FRUIT cider

imho : ok, but not great

prefer Sainsbury's dark fruit cider (more fizzy pop drink-like. sweeter ? more dark-fruit taste ?)

Strongbow dark fruit I give 6/10

Bearable, ok. Wouldnt want to drink more than 2 cans. Wouldnt buy unless options limited.

Better than normal apple cider, pear cider.

Beer / Ales /Lager are unbearable.

Its on my list of 'would buy if necessary', unlike lagers/ales etc.

But no great love for it.

Adding more 'flavor' via 'squash' for tastier drink

By adding more 'dark fruits' (via 'squash' / concentrated fruit juices) you can make the dark-fruits cider choosing test obsolete, as just add your own and its probably tastier than anything on the market.

Dark-fruit cider market

Strongbow was the main UK cider company until Kopparberg etc came along with their 'Flavored ciders' (adding flavors to APPLE cider ?)

In 2013 someone remembered people used to add blackcurrant to 'heavy' alcohols (e.g. beer/cider).

So Strongbow Dark Fruit was launched and has been a massive success.

Dark Fruit Cider now has 20% of the UK cider market ?? (source : dunno. could be wrong).

Apples and Pears (main brewing ingredient ?)

With the flavored cider, it seems to be Apple or Pear with other fruit flavors added ??

Could be wrong.

Main point is, what fruit are they using to 'brew' the alcohol ?

I'm guessing Apple or Pears. Any other flavor is added to this (??)
